Sindh Government to combat fake news with NCCIA support

The Sindh government has announced a major initiative to curb fake news and misleading propaganda by collaborating with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). During a meeting of the Information Department chaired by Senior Minister Sherryl Inam Memon, officials outlined a new strategy to monitor mainstream and social media on a daily basis.

To implement this, the department will establish an effective monitoring system to identify, verify, and address misinformation. The government intends to use the NCCIA to facilitate legal action against those responsible for creating and spreading false information.

In addition to monitoring, the provincial government aims to strengthen its own narrative focused on peace, tolerance, and national unity. Officials were instructed to utilize modern media tools to promote positive and constructive messaging across all sectors of society.
