Sindh launches digital classrooms and school enrolment campaign
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has launched several initiatives to expand and modernize the province's educational infrastructure. As part of a push for special education, the government inaugurated 49 digital classrooms equipped with smart boards and e-learning tools, alongside 20 new satellite schools designed to increase accessibility for children with special needs.
To support these students, a new sign language teacher training program has been established in collaboration with Deaf Reach and FESF.
In a separate effort to boost general education, the Chief Minister has ordered a massive community mobilization and enrolment campaign. This directive aims to ensure that schools constructed or rehabilitated under the Sindh Secondary Education Improvement Project (SSEIP) are fully functional immediately upon completion. Supported by the Asian Development Bank, the SSEIP involves the construction, upgrading, or rehabilitation of 838 schools, including 722 climate-resilient facilities built as part of flood rehabilitation efforts. These projects are expected to provide educational opportunities for approximately 250,000 children across the province.
