Sindh to issue show-cause notices to absentee college teachers

The Sindh Colleges Department has announced it will issue show-cause notices to teachers and staff found absent from duty at government colleges across the province. This decision follows a meeting chaired by Colleges Secretary Nadeem Memon, where officials reported a significant number of employees were absent from their posts without valid justification.

To improve transparency and discipline, authorities are strengthening the implementation of a biometric attendance system across all government colleges. Secretary Memon has directed officials to enforce attendance requirements strictly in accordance with applicable service rules, noting that disciplinary proceedings may follow the issuance of show-cause notices.

Additionally, the School Education and Literacy Department has implemented revised school timings for various educational institutions. These schedules vary for single-shift and double-shift primary, elementary, and secondary schools, with adjustments set for different periods between August and March.
