Sindh: Two minor Hindu sisters reportedly kidnapped and forcibly converted

Two minor Hindu sisters, aged 13 and 14, from the Katchi Kolhi community in Tando Allahyar, Sindh, have reportedly been kidnapped, forcibly converted to Islam, and married to two men, Amjad Solangi and Mansoor Solangi.

During recent court proceedings, the girls were seen crying and pleading to return to their families, stating, “We want to go home.” Despite their distress, the court moved the minors to a safe house rather than returning them to their parents. During the hearing, one of the girls reportedly fainted and required hospitalization.

Shiva Kachhi, president of the Minority Rights Organization in Pakistan, noted that the girls' statements were not heard and they were moved to a safe house due to a lack of medical reports. This incident has intensified fears within the Hindu community in Sindh regarding the safety of minority girls. Data indicates a rise in such cases, with 421 reported instances of kidnapping and forced conversion between 2021 and 2024, including 282 Hindu girls.
