Vitória da Conquista adds three new state schools and expands another, serving over 4,700 students
The Bahia State Education Secretariat inaugurated three new full‑time public schools in Vitória da Conquista and completed the expansion of a fourth facility between June 30 and July 9. The new Colégio Estadual de Tempo Integral de Vitória da Conquista (CETIVC) opened on June 30 with an investment of R$ 47.7 million and capacity for more than 2,200 students, featuring 36 classrooms, laboratories for chemistry, biology, physics, mathematics, informatics and languages, a covered sports court, a semi‑Olympic pool, theater, restaurant and solar power plant.
On July 9 the governor Jerônimo Rodrigues and interim state education secretary Marcius Gomes inaugurated the Colégio Estadual de Tempo Integral Padre Luiz Soares Palmeira (1,282 seats, R$ 20 million), the Colégio Estadual de Tempo Integral Professora Elisabeth Elisabeth Maria Couto (349 seats) and the expanded Colégio Estadual de Tempo Integral Camillo de Jesus Lima (now serving 946 students after a R$ 12 million upgrade). All schools include modern classrooms, libraries, theaters, student restaurants, covered courts and other facilities aimed at improving education for high‑school, adult and professional programs.
