Sinfónica de Tenerife opens new season with Mahler's Second Symphony

The Sinfónica de Tenerife is launching its 2026/2027 season, titled ‘Libertad o destino’, with a performance of Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 2. The concert is scheduled for Friday, September 11, at 19:30.

Guest conductor Pablo González will lead the orchestra, accompanied by sopranos Berna Perles and Olesya Petrova, and the Coro Titular Ópera de Tenerife–Intermezzo under the direction of Miguel Ángel Arqued. González described the work as a journey from uncertainty to a final affirmation of hope.

The orchestra enters this new season following a period of growth in both audience numbers and international presence, including a recent debut at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Subscription sales for the upcoming campaign have already seen an 8% increase compared to the same period last season.
