Sinfonia of London releases restored ‘Guys and Dolls’ recording

John Wilson and the Sinfonia of London have released a new recording of Frank Loesser’s ‘Guys and Dolls’ as part of the Chandos series surveying Broadway’s golden age.

The production features orchestrations restored by Larry Moore, who conducted exhaustive research to rebuild the original scoring heard during the show’s first-night performances, rather than the leaner versions used in later productions.

The recording includes a cast featuring Sierra Boggess, Nathaniel Hackmann, Louise Dearman, David Seadon-Young, Damien Humbley, Sir Thomas Allen, Nadim Naaman, and Lucca Chadwick-Patel.
