Singapore and Brunei mark 50 years of defence ties with joint parade

Singapore and Brunei celebrated 50 years of bilateral defence relations with a joint military parade at the Muara Naval Base on October 10, 2026. The event was reviewed by Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.

The parade featured 256 personnel and various operational assets from the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), spanning land, naval, and air components. Highlights included a naval sail-past and an aerial display involving two Singaporean H225M Medium Lift helicopters and three Bruneian S-70i Blackhawk helicopters.

Following the ceremony, the leaders inaugurated a commemorative gallery documenting key milestones in the defence relationship since its formal establishment in 1976. The celebrations also included visits to SAF personnel conducting jungle training in Temburong, underscoring the long-standing tradition of joint training and professional bonds between the two nations.
