Singapore and World Bank launch carbon markets programme
Singapore and the World Bank Group have launched the Singapore Carbon Markets Programme to address challenges in scaling carbon markets. The initiative focuses on strengthening market infrastructure through interoperable registries, facilitating the monetization of carbon credits to reduce transaction costs, and supporting host countries in developing national carbon market strategies and institutional capacity.
In a separate climate initiative, Vietnam and Singapore have strengthened their cooperation through Resolution No. 235/NQ-CP. This treaty implements Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, facilitating bilateral climate action between the two nations.
