Singapore awards S$1.2 billion in Tuas Road Viaduct contracts
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded three civil contracts totaling approximately S$1.2 billion for the second phase of the Tuas Road Viaduct construction in Singapore. The project aims to strengthen connectivity to Tuas Port by creating a continuous elevated road corridor linking the Ayer Rajah Expressway and Pan Island Expressway to Pioneer Road and Tuas South.
By bypassing 18 surface-level junctions, the viaduct will facilitate industrial development and the consolidation of container port activities at Tuas over the next decade. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2027, with progressive completion expected by 2032.
The contracts were distributed as follows:
• Hwa Seng Builder: S$381.6 million for the Pioneer Road Viaduct contract. • China Communications Construction Company (Singapore Branch): S$430.3 million for the Tuas South Avenue 3 Viaduct contract. • China Harbour (Singapore) Engineering Company: S$404.4 million for the Tuas South Boulevard Viaduct contract.
