Singapore Business Federation launches future readiness diagnostic tool

The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) has launched a new holistic diagnostic tool designed to help companies assess their future readiness, identify capability gaps, and prioritize transformation efforts. The tool, known as the Future Ready Business Index (FRBI), was officially launched by Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry Low Yen Ling at the inaugural Future Ready Business in Action 2026 event.

Developed in collaboration with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and delivered through partnerships with DBS, Enterprise Singapore, and RSM Singapore, the FRBI utilizes 11 quantitative measures and 39 qualitative metrics to ensure objective assessments. SBF CEO Kok Ping Soon described the tool as a ‘business readiness check’ covering six key dimensions: success-driven performance, global scaling readiness, smart-enabled technology and cybersecurity, skills empowerment for workforce development, sustainability centricity, and social impact through governance.

According to Mariam Jaafar, managing director and senior partner at BCG, the index employs a ‘T-shaped model’ to provide a broad assessment while helping businesses pinpoint specific pillars requiring improvement. The SBF aims to reach a cumulative total of 200 companies by the end of 2026 and 500 companies by the end of next year.
