Singapore charges British man for 2024 Changi Airport theft
A 26-year-old British man has been charged in Singapore for a theft that occurred more than two years ago at Changi Airport. The incident took place on August 14, 2024, when a blue denim jacket valued at approximately S$350 was taken from a display mannequin at an airport shopping mall.
Authorities identified the man through surveillance footage, but he had already left the country by the time his identity was established. He was subsequently arrested while in transit at the airport on August 15 of this year. The Singapore Police Force stated that offenders should not assume they can evade detection by leaving the country.
In a separate incident at the airport, a 50-year-old Polish woman was also arrested in the transit area for the theft of two bottles of perfume.
