Singapore conservation shophouses see major real estate activity
Significant real estate transactions are occurring within Singapore's conservation areas. In Joo Chiat, CBRE is marketing seven adjoining freehold two-storey shophouses located at the intersection of Joo Chiat Road and East Coast Road. The properties, which include 3rd-storey rear extensions, sit on a combined land area of approximately 8,442 sq ft. The sale is being conducted via an Expression of Interest exercise with a guide price of S$100 million.
In Geylang, ABIEL Property Investment Fund has acquired three adjoining conservation shophouses at 223, 225, and 227 Geylang Road for S$18.68 million. The firm plans to convert the site into ‘House 223’, a residential concept featuring 15 self-contained micro-residences. Scheduled to open in September 2026, the development targets international professionals on medium-term postings, with monthly rents expected to range between $2,300 and $2,700.
