Singapore electricity and gas tariffs to decrease in Q4 2026

Singaporean households will see a decrease in utility costs for the fourth quarter of 2026. The regulated electricity tariff is set to fall by 10.4% from October to December, dropping from S$0.3191 to S$0.2859 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) before GST. This reduction is expected to lower the average monthly electricity bill for families in four-room Housing Board (HDB) flats by S$12.99 before GST.

The overall electricity tariff, which includes non-household consumers, will decrease by an average of 10.6%. This decline is attributed to lower energy and natural gas prices recorded during the first half of the preceding quarter. Additionally, piped town gas provider City Energy announced that household gas tariffs will decrease by 8.6%, falling from S$0.2348 to S$0.2145 per kWh.

Tariffs are reviewed quarterly by the Energy Market Authority based on global fuel price volatility. While current rates are lower due to previous fuel price trends, grid operator SP Group noted that rising global fuel prices amid Middle East tensions could lead to increases in future quarters.
