Singapore Exchange gains CFTC approval for US institutional crypto futures access
The Singapore Exchange (SGX) has received authorization from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) under Regulation 48.10, allowing U.S. institutional investors to access its Bitcoin and Ether perpetual futures. This regulatory milestone connects American traditional finance desks with Asian liquidity pools, providing a regulated pathway for crypto derivatives trading.
In the U.S. spot ETF market, recent data shows diverging trends between assets. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs experienced a period of significant net outflows, including a four-day streak that saw hundreds of millions of dollars leave the funds. Conversely, Ethereum spot ETFs have seen renewed interest, with BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) recording approximately $149 million in net inflows on September 11, contributing to a broader trend of institutional capital shifting toward Ethereum products.
