Singapore hosts major crypto and finance summits alongside F1 Grand Prix

Singapore is hosting a series of major finance and cryptocurrency conferences, including TOKEN2049, coinciding with the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix. The TOKEN2049 event is expected to draw approximately 25,000 attendees and features over 500 exhibitors and 300 speakers. Notable participants include Eric Trump, co-founder of World Liberty Financial, as well as investor Ray Dalio and Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The cryptocurrency industry arrives at the conference amid a recent Bitcoin rally, with the asset climbing to approximately $86,000 from $58,000 in June. Despite recent market volatility and regulatory challenges in the US, the event is nearly sold out.

Other major gatherings in the city include the Forbes CEO Conference and the Milken Asia Summit. These events take place against a backdrop of regional haze caused by fires in Indonesia and significant increases in local hotel rates due to the influx of business and sports travelers.
