Singapore hosts urban mobility and public transport innovation events

Singapore is hosting major initiatives focused on the future of urban land transport and workforce development. The Singapore Urban Mobility Week (SUMW) 2026, scheduled for November 4 to 6 at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, will gather over 8,000 policymakers, transport operators, and innovators from more than 50 countries. Jointly organized by the Land Transport Authority (LTA), MSI Global Pte Ltd, and MP Singapore, the event will feature over 200 companies showcasing technologies such as autonomous mobility and smart infrastructure.

In a related effort to strengthen the industry workforce, the biennial Singapore BusTech and RailTech Grand Challenges were held on October 24 at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) College West. Organized by the LTA alongside the Singapore Bus Academy, Singapore Rail Academy, and National Transport Academy, the competition challenged professionals and students to solve real-world transport problems using emerging technologies. Participants included teams from major operators such as SBS Transit, SMRT Buses, Tower Transit Singapore, and Go-Ahead Singapore.
