Singapore job market shows resilience in PMET openings for graduates

Singapore's job market shows resilience for fresh graduates, with entry-level professional, managerial, executive, and technician (PMET) openings increasing from 32,500 in December 2025 to 32,800 in March 2026, according to Ministry of Manpower (MOM) data.

Approximately 90% of the 2025 university graduate cohort secured employment within 12 months of graduation. Key sectors driving hiring and wage growth include financial and insurance services, professional services, and information and communications. As of September 2025, these sectors accounted for roughly 14,200 PMET vacancies.

The technology sector remains a significant driver, with Singapore's tech workforce reaching 214,000 in 2024. Rapidly growing roles within this field include AI, data, and cybersecurity.
