Singapore LNG Corporation begins construction of third jetty
Singapore LNG Corporation (SLNG) has commenced construction of a third jetty at its Jurong Island terminal to meet rising demand for liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering. Scheduled for completion in the second half of 2028, the new facility will accommodate vessels ranging from 5,800 m3 to 80,000 m3, focusing on small and mid-scale operations. The project is expected to support approximately 2 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG bunker reload demand.
In a related development, Shell has delivered Singapore’s first ISCC EU-certified bio-LNG cargo at the SLNG-operated terminal. SLNG has also secured ISCC EU certification for its terminal services, including storage, regasification, bunkering, and trucking. This certification allows bio-LNG to be traced and accounted for under the scheme. The new third jetty will be equipped to handle bio-LNG, supporting its adoption as a lower-carbon marine fuel.
