Singapore man to face charges after driving under influence of etomidate

A 20-year-old man is set to face court charges for dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drugs following a three-vehicle accident in Jurong West. The incident occurred on October 28, 2025, along Jurong West Street 91.

According to the Singapore Police Force, the man failed to move when a traffic light turned green, prompting a bus to overtake him. The driver then allegedly overtook the bus from the left, stopped, and drove across the center divider into oncoming traffic. This resulted in a collision with a car and a van. No injuries were reported.

At the scene, the driver appeared unstable and disoriented. A vaporizer seized from his vehicle was analyzed by the Health Sciences Authority, which detected the presence of etomidate, a substance reportedly associated with ‘Kpod’ e-vaporizers, in his blood. The man faces potential jail time and fines under the Road Traffic Act.
