Singapore mooncake market introduces new flavors for Mid-Autumn Festival

The 2026 Mid-Autumn Festival mooncake market in Singapore is seeing a shift toward unconventional flavors and diverse offerings. While one operator reported sales approximately 10% lower than the same period last year, sellers expect demand to increase as the festival on 25 September approaches, particularly for personal consumption.

To attract younger demographics and compete in a crowded market, businesses are introducing modern flavors such as pistachio, mochi, Nyonya-inspired tastes, and pandan chendol. Traditional tea-infused options also remain popular, with offerings including Da Hong Pao tea-infused mooncakes from the Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel and Dancong tea almond varieties.

Retail activity is concentrated in locations like VivoCity, where nearly 50 brands are participating in promotions. Many vendors are also focusing on health-conscious trends by providing products with less sugar and no added preservatives.
