Singapore Red Cross provides additional humanitarian aid to Venezuela
The Singapore Red Cross (SRC) has provided a second humanitarian aid contribution of 50,000 Singapore dollars to Venezuela. This latest donation, presented to Venezuelan Ambassador Jessica López during the SRC’s Humanitarian Night, brings the total financial support to 150,000 Singapore dollars following an initial 100,000 dollar contribution in June.
The funds are intended to assist communities affected by earthquakes that occurred on June 24. The resources will be channeled through the Venezuelan Red Cross and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to finance immediate relief efforts, including medical care, psychosocial support, the provision of potable water, and long-term reconstruction projects.
SRC President Tan Kai Hoe emphasized that strategic alliances with diplomatic missions are essential for mitigating the impact of natural disasters. The public fundraising campaign for those affected in Venezuela remains open until September 30.
