Singapore tech developments: Quantum-safe center and cloud infrastructure updates

The Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and IBM have announced plans to establish a Quantum-Safe Center at the SIT Punggol campus by the end of 2026. The center aims to accelerate Singapore’s transition toward cybersecurity that is resilient against quantum computing threats. It will assist organizations in assessing vulnerabilities, adopting quantum-resistant cryptography, and developing talent for the post-quantum era.

The facility will provide a live testbed for quantum-resistant technologies, allowing businesses and researchers to test solutions through applied use cases. Additionally, the center will offer professional training, executive education, and applied research to strengthen national resilience.

In a separate technological development in Singapore, Cloudera introduced its Anywhere Cloud architecture at the Cloudera Evolve 2026 event. The platform is designed to reduce data infrastructure implementation times from an industry average of 60 days to under 60 minutes. By utilizing a modular, containerized system, IT teams can deploy core data services like Apache Spark and Apache Airflow via a marketplace, significantly speeding up the deployment of AI and data projects.
