Cansever, renowned arabesque singer, dies at 59

Renowned arabesque and Roman music singer Cansever, born Dzansever Dalipova, has passed away at the age of 59. She died on August 8, 2026, at the Westdeutsches Tumorzentrum in Essen, Germany, following a battle with leukemia.

Cansever, originally from Veles, North Macedonia, rose to fame in the 1990s, particularly gaining widespread recognition in Turkey after appearing on the television program 'İbo Show' in 1997. She was well-known for hits such as "Kara Çadır," "Ağla Gözbebeğim," and "Cemalim."

Her medical history included a diagnosis of ankylosing spondylitis in 1994 and a leukemia diagnosis in late 2025. Despite undergoing a bone marrow transplant in Germany in March 2026, her health declined following a recent infection. Her funeral is planned to take place in her birthplace, Veles, North Macedonia.
