Singer Chen Kai-lun bids farewell to Chen Ying-chieh

Singer Chen Kai-lun attended the funeral of legendary Taiwanese singer Chen Ying-chieh to offer a final farewell. During the service, Chen Kai-lun read a letter expressing his deep gratitude and sorrow, reflecting on the long-standing bond between the two.

Chen Kai-lun recalled how Chen Ying-chieh supported him when he was a newcomer to the music industry at age 25, even driving him to and from work daily. He noted that while financial debts are easy to repay, the emotional debt of her kindness is lifelong. He also mentioned his frequent hospital visits to her during her final year.

Family members shared that Chen Ying-chieh passed away on the evening of August 12, following the cessation of her heart monitor. Chen Kai-lun's visit included a moment of connection with Chen's brother, Xing-he, who recalled how Chen Kai-lun had assisted with the funeral services for Chen Ying-chieh's father 21 years ago.
