Singer Chi Produces Dark Theme Song for Horror Series “Smart Town”
Singer‑songwriter 持修 (Chi) wrote, composed, arranged, recorded and completed post‑production for the theme song “我美不美?” used in the horror mystery series “Smart Town” (《聰明鎮》). The series adapts works by Japanese manga creator Junji Ito and the director gave Chi full creative freedom, making no changes to the track.
The single’s cover artwork draws on Ito’s story “十字路口的美少年”. In interviews Chi described the song as depicting a twisted form of love, saying “愛是很多面的…失去自我、痛苦，都是很美的，愛的樣子”. He also said he would like to act as the “蛞蝓少女” (slug girl) character portrayed by Elly, the daughter of TV host 小S, in the series.
Both reports note that Chi handled the entire production process himself, a first for him, and that the series’ creators endorsed his artistic approach.
