Singer D4vd sued by parents of murdered teen

The parents of Celeste Rivas Hernandez have filed a civil lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court against singer D4vd, whose real name is David Burke. The suit alleges wrongful death, sexual battery, childhood assault, false imprisonment, and human trafficking.

The legal action follows criminal proceedings in which Burke was ordered to stand trial for the murder of the 14-year-old. The lawsuit claims Burke exercised undue influence over the minor and alleges he arranged for her to be transported to his Hollywood Hills home in April 2025, where she was allegedly killed.

In addition to Burke, the lawsuit names his mother, Colleen Burke, his managers, a live-in security guard, and his music-publishing and recording companies. The plaintiffs are seeking damages for the loss of their daughter and the emotional distress caused by the incident. The victim's remains were discovered in the trunk of a Tesla registered to Burke in September 2025.
