Darko Lazić disputes club expulsion and unpaid fee in Trogir

On 18 July 2024 the Serbian folk singer Darko Lazić performed at a nightclub in Trogir, Croatia. Video footage circulated on social media showed him appearing intoxicated and struggling to stay on his feet. The club’s owner said the singer’s condition forced him to end the set after roughly half an hour.

Lazić publicly denied the reports, stating, “Peев час и половина и не ми платија” – he sang for an hour and a half and was not paid. The owner countered that Lazić sang only about thirty minutes, was paid, and left the stage to sing at the bar, adding that the club is marking its 30th anniversary next year. Both sides have accused each other of falsehoods, and Lazić said he would not recommend the venue to anyone.

The dispute has been covered by several regional outlets, each repeating the conflicting claims about performance length, payment and the singer’s behaviour.
