Singer Flay denies paying for Latin Grammy eligibility

Brazilian singer Flay has responded to jokes made by presenter Blogueirinha regarding the registration of her album, ‘Sertões’, for the 2026 Latin Grammy Awards. During an appearance on the program TVZ, Blogueirinha suggested that Flay had paid over R$ 10,000 to make the project eligible for the awards.

In a video posted to social media, Flay denied the allegations, stating that she did not pay to make the album eligible. She defended the prestige of the Latin Grammy, asserting, “The Latin Grammy is a very serious award... and you do not pay to make your album eligible within the Latin Grammy.” Flay added that she is not bothered by the presenter’s humor but wanted to clarify the facts regarding the registration process.
