Gabeu is recognized as a pioneer of ‘queernejo’, a musical movement that blends traditional sertanejo with LGBTQIA+ culture. His work, including the 2021 album ‘Agropoc’, incorporates themes of same-sex relationships and queer pop elements, earning him a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Sertanejo Music Album in 2022.
The artist has previously spoken about his relationship with his father, noting that Solimões has been supportive since Gabeu came out at age 16.
