Singer hitomi discusses parenting and allowance challenges
Singer hitomi, a mother of four, shared insights regarding her parenting experiences and the challenges of managing children's allowances during a recent appearance on the Nippon TV variety program, “Ueda to Onna ga Hoeru Yoru”.
During a discussion focused on inflation and money, hitomi explained that she prefers giving her children cash rather than using cashless payment methods. She noted that she fears her children might lose their sense of the value of money if they rely solely on digital payments, which she described as feeling like “magic”.
Hitomi also revealed that because she does not have “mama friends” (other mothers to consult), she often struggles to determine the appropriate amount for allowances. She recounted an instance where she gave a child 500 yen based on her own outdated perspective, only to be met with complaints from the child about how little that amount could purchase in the current era.
