Singer Hoàng Dũng features Tay culture and his mother in new performance
Vietnamese singer Hoàng Dũng has garnered significant attention for his recent performance on the program ‘Anh Trai Vượt Ngàn Chông Gai 2026’. During the performance of ‘Tich Tich Tinh Tang’—a collaboration with Hoàng Rob, Thỏ (Da LAB), Tùng Mint, and Will—the singer incorporated traditional Tay ethnic culture, utilizing ‘Then’ singing and ‘đàn tính’ instruments.
As a member of the Tay ethnic group, Hoàng Dũng helped develop the performance concept, which was inspired by the story of Thạch Sanh. A notable highlight of the act was the appearance of his mother, an Associate Professor and PhD in Education, as a special guest. The moment of the mother and son performing together to celebrate their cultural roots has become a viral point of interest among audiences.
