Singer Kang Hyun Soo reveals career shift to restaurant business

South Korean singer Kang Hyun Soo, formerly known by the stage name V. One, has revealed that he transitioned from the music industry to running a Japanese-style yakiniku restaurant in Seongsu, Seoul.

His departure from the spotlight was influenced by a 2001 appearance on MBC’s ‘Guerrilla Concert’. After previously stating he would retire if he could not gather 2,000 spectators, the program unexpectedly raised the requirement to 5,000. Kang managed to attract 4,362 people, falling short by 638. This outcome led to him being labeled a failure in the context of the show, causing a loss of confidence that eventually led to his withdrawal from the entertainment industry.
