Singer Michelle discusses past homelessness and childhood struggles

German Schlager singer Michelle has shared personal details about her difficult upbringing and past struggles during an appearance on the podcast ‘Ungefiltert On Fire’. The 54-year-old artist revealed that she experienced homelessness and faced a childhood marked by a ‘very brutal’ father, which led her and her mother to seek refuge in women's shelters on several occasions.

Michelle recalled that during her time living on the streets, she resorted to stealing food, such as canned ravioli. Her life changed drastically in 1993 at the age of 17 after winning with her single ‘Und heut' Nacht will ich tanzen’ on the ZDF-Hitparade.

In addition to discussing her history with depression and anxiety, the singer, who also works as a healer known as ‘Wakan’, hinted at a new professional project that is unrelated to both her music career and her healing work.
