Miguel condemns racist and abusive attacks against his family

Grammy-winning R&B singer Miguel has issued a statement addressing a year of alleged harassment, racism, stalking, and privacy invasions targeting his family. The singer noted that his partner, Margaret Zhang, has been the subject of recent racist and anti-Asian attacks via social media comments and direct messages.

Miguel also reported that abusive comments have been directed at his child. While acknowledging that public figures must accept criticism regarding their work and persona, he emphasized that targeting family members and children constitutes abuse rather than opinion. He stated that ‘legal and ethical lines have been crossed’ and indicated that legal action has been and will continue to be taken.

The announcement comes as the couple prepares to welcome their second child. Miguel also called for accountability from organizations and individuals who amplify harassment or false allegations for engagement, asserting that such behavior does not constitute support for his community.
