Singer Nguyễn Phi Hùng's career rise from ballet to V-pop stardom

Vietnamese singer Nguyễn Phi Hùng, a prominent figure in the music industry during the early 2000s, rose to fame following an unexpected discovery during a karaoke session. Originally a ballet dancer graduated from the Vietnam Dance School in 1996, Hùng moved to Ho Chi Minh City in 2000 to work as a backup dancer and choreography instructor at the New Talent Center.

His transition to professional singing occurred after his natural vocal talent was noticed by a center administrator during a social gathering. Despite lacking formal vocal training at the time, his emotive voice and stage presence led to professional investment and training. He became well-known for his contributions to the popular Chinese-language music genre with Vietnamese lyrics.
