Singer Portable calls for retirement of Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Olamide

Nigerian singer Portable has sparked debate within the music industry by suggesting that established stars Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Olamide should retire to allow newer artists to dominate the scene.

Portable noted that while previous artists like Timaya, 2face, and Eedris Abdulkareem eventually moved on, these four have remained at the top for over a decade. He also expressed a desire for more support within the Fuji music genre, specifically calling on K1 De Ultimate, Pasuma, and Saheed Osupa to better promote younger talents.

In addressing his controversial public comments, Portable claimed his criticisms are a way of seeking attention and association with the superstars. He stated that his provocations are intended to facilitate connections, such as wanting to chill with Olamide or Wizkid, or spend time with Davido.
