Singer Sook Haeng loses lawsuit over infidelity scandal

South Korean trot singer Sook Haeng has lost a civil lawsuit regarding an infidelity scandal involving a married man. Following a court ruling in late September, the singer is obligated to provide compensation for emotional damages to the man's wife.

The scandal gained widespread attention after CCTV footage surfaced showing intimate behavior between Sook Haeng and the man in an elevator. In response to the singer's recent attempt to return to the public eye through a solo concert in Seoul, the man's wife has released additional evidence, including text messages and audio recordings.

The released materials include messages where Sook Haeng reportedly told the wife to resolve her own marital issues, as well as an audio recording where the singer apologized and claimed she was also a victim because she believed the man was divorcing his spouse. Despite her emotional pleas during her recent concert, public reaction remains largely critical.
