Singer Suk Haeng ordered to pay alimony following affair ruling

Trot singer Suk Haeng has been ordered by a court to pay 30 million won in alimony to the wife of a man with whom she was involved in an extramarital affair. The Suwon District Court Seongnam Branch ruled that Suk Haeng engaged in misconduct by dating and cohabitating with the man starting in January 2025.

The court rejected Suk Haeng's defense that the man's marriage was already broken or that she had been deceived about his marital status, stating there was insufficient evidence to support these claims.

Following the ruling, a recorded phone call between Suk Haeng and the man's wife was released via a YouTube channel. In the recording, Suk Haeng pleaded for forgiveness, asking the wife to show “a Buddha-like heart” and claiming she was also a victim who had been misled. The wife, however, provided text messages and details alleging that she had repeatedly requested Suk Haeng to end the relationship, but the affair continued.
