Singer Thu Minh announces passing of her father

Vietnamese singer Thu Minh announced the passing of her father, Vu Ngoc Kim, who died at the age of 90 on September 17, 2026. In a personal tribute, the singer expressed her gratitude to her father, stating that being his daughter was a great privilege and thanking him for her singing voice.

The family has scheduled visitation from September 19 to September 23, with the funeral service and burial to take place at Sala Garden Cemetery in Dong Nai. The family has requested that guests refrain from offering condolences in person during the ceremony.

Numerous prominent Vietnamese artists, including Thanh Lam, Toc Tien, and Van Mai Huong, have shared messages of sympathy. Businessman Duong Quoc Nam also offered support, recalling how Thu Minh’s father supported her career during her early years performing in tea rooms.
