Singer Vianney faces criticism over televised forest cabin project
French singer Vianney has faced backlash from social media users following an appearance on the France 2 program ‘20h30, le dimanche’. During the broadcast, the artist showcased a wooden cabin in the Eure forest that he spent nine months constructing.
While Vianney presented the project as a personal endeavor, many internet users criticized the segment as a promotional stunt for his upcoming album, ‘Les Évadés’, scheduled for release on November 6. Commentators on social media described the move as an ‘ego trip’ and a ‘huge communication coup’.
Some viewers also expressed frustration regarding the perceived disconnect between the televised project and the everyday lives of citizens. Vianney addressed previous skepticism regarding whether he had actually built the structure alone, noting that such doubts were somewhat flattering. He also mentioned that his wife, Catherine Robert, had been frustrated by the time dedicated to the project.
