Single Pair Ethernet Association formed through industry merger

The Single Pair Ethernet System Alliance e. V. and the SPE Industrial Partner Network e. V. have merged to form the Single Pair Ethernet Association e. V. The new association was officially registered on August 20, 2026.

By combining these two previously independent networks, the association aims to eliminate parallel structures and unify expertise to advance the standardization and global distribution of Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) technology. SPE is considered a key technology for industrial communication, automation, and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

The merger brings together members including automation specialists Weidmüller and Harting. The association plans to participate in upcoming international trade fairs, including IMTS in Chicago, the Industrial Automation Show in Shanghai, and SPS Smart Production Solutions in Nuremberg.
