Singleton Public School student qualifies for national athletics championships

Lunah, a Year 5 student from Singleton Public School, has qualified for the School Sport Australia Track and Field National Championships in Melbourne. Her qualification follows a second-place finish in the junior shot put at the New South Wales Public Schools Sports Association (PSSA) state finals, where she recorded a throw of 11.8 metres.

In addition to her shot put performance, Lunah placed fifth in the discus with a throw of 30.67 metres. She has been training in both field events for several years, utilizing specialist coaching in Newcastle to improve her results.

The school's junior boys relay team, consisting of Year 4 students Flynn, Lincoln, Henley, and Nate, also competed at the state finals after placing third in the regional Hunter finals.
