Singrauli police seize 51 liters of illegal alcohol from grocery store

Police in Sarai, Singrauli, seized approximately 51.4 liters of illegal alcohol from a grocery store located in Pokhritola. The operation was conducted following a tip-off regarding the sale of illicit spirits.

Authorities recovered various types of alcohol, including country liquor, Goa whisky, London Pride, and Le Mount beer. The estimated value of the seized goods is 26,152 rupees. The shop owner, 46-year-old Jwala Prasad Sahu, was arrested and charged under section 34(2) of the Excise Act. Records indicate the suspect has six prior criminal cases involving the Excise Act, theft, and the NDPS Act.
