Singtel launches National Day film highlighting Singapore’s AI‑driven digital future

Singtel Group released its 2026 National Day film, “Beyond Connection”, as a tribute to Singapore’s 61‑year journey from a resource‑poor island to a global economic hub. The video traces the nation’s industrialisation, digitalisation and current ambition to become a Smart Nation and regional AI hub, while also charting Singtel’s evolution through investments in subsea cables, satellite links, advanced mobile networks and AI‑ready data centres.

The film underscores Singtel’s pledge to keep building Singapore’s digital backbone as AI reshapes economies. CEO Yuen Kuan Moon said, “The story of Singapore has always been one of looking beyond the horizon and building for the future.” Concrete examples include 5G‑enabled Holomedicine at the National University Health System, real‑time 5G collaboration at Hyundai’s Innovation Center, autonomous baggage vehicles at Changi Airport, and 5G connectivity supporting PSA’s fully automated Tuas Port terminal.

Through archival footage enhanced with AI tools, the production celebrates past achievements and positions Singtel as a key enabler of Singapore’s next technological chapter.
