Singular Machines spins out of UK Atomic Energy Authority
Singular Machines, an engineering automation company, has been spun out of the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA). The move is part of the UKAEA’s strategy to commercialize fusion research and drive economic growth through national R&D investments.
The company secured a strategic investment round involving the UK Innovation and Science Seed Fund, Oxford Science Enterprises, the global engineering firm Arup, and Japan’s Miraisozo Investments. Additionally, Arup has signed a contract to utilize Singular Machines’ coEngen platform.
Singular Machines is developing coEngen, an agentic AI platform designed to assist engineers by maintaining traceability, assurance, and professional judgment. While the technology originated from fusion energy requirements, it is intended for application across wider engineering automation industries.
