Sinisa Mihajlovic to receive special memory award in Rome

The fourth edition of the International Euro-Mediterranean Excellence Award, also known as the ‘Oscar del Mediterraneo’, will present a Special Memory Award to the late Sinisa Mihajlovic. The recognition will be presented to the Mihajlovic family during a ceremony in Rome scheduled for October 14, 2026.

The award honors Mihajlovic’s significant impact on European football as both a player and a coach, while specifically recognizing his character and the courage he demonstrated during his public battle with illness. Alongside the award, an artwork dedicated to him will be presented, created by the artist Benito Macerata.

The ceremony aims to bring together representatives from diplomacy, sports, culture, and social sectors to promote dialogue and cooperation between Europe and the Mediterranean.
