Sinj celebrates feast of the Miraculous Lady of Sinj
Thousands of pilgrims gathered in Sinj to celebrate the feast of the Miraculous Lady of Sinj, one of Croatia’s most significant Marian festivities. The event commemorates the city’s defense against Ottoman forces in 1715.
The celebration included a traditional procession carrying the miraculous image of the Lady of Sinj, led by the Alkar riders in historical attire. The religious ceremonies were presided over by the Split-Makarska Archbishop, Monsignor Zdenko Križić. The event drew believers from across Dalmatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and other parts of the country.
In attendance was Ivan Šipić, the Minister of Demography and Migration, representing the Croatian Government. During the festivities, local commerce remained active, with traditional foods like lamb and uštipci being sold to the crowds.
