Sinj earmarks €160,000 for culture and lifts alkarica support to €50 per recipient

The City of Sinj approved a €160,000 allocation in its 2026 budget for cultural programmes. Funding will support local ensembles, the municipal theatre, folklore groups, and projects such as the 70th anniversary of the Sinj theatre, the 311th Alka, the summer music school, festivals, heritage‑preservation seminars and other artistic activities.

At the same time, Mayor Miro Bulj increased the alkarica social payment from €40 to €50 per eligible resident. The eligibility threshold for pensioners was raised to a monthly pension of €450 (up from €350). The payment also remains available to parents, caregivers, unemployed individuals, war veterans and those without income aged over 65, aiming to aid the most vulnerable households.
