Sinn Féin leads in latest Irish opinion poll

The latest Sunday Independent/Ireland Thinks opinion poll shows Sinn Féin has returned to the top of the standings with 21% support, a one-point increase. This places them two points ahead of Fine Gael, which saw its support drop by one point to 19%.

Aontú reached a record high in the poll, rising to 8% support. Fianna Fáil also saw a slight increase, reaching 17%. Other parties reported the following levels of support: Social Democrats at 10%, Independent Ireland at 7%, Labour and the Green Party at 3% each, and People Before Profit-Solidarity at 2%. Support for independents and other candidates fell to 10%.

Regarding leadership satisfaction, Social Democrats leader Holly Cairns received the highest rating at 40%, followed by Taoiseach Micheál Martin at 37%.

The poll also identified voter priorities, with 47% of respondents citing the cost of living as their primary concern and 42% identifying housing. Immigration was noted by 25%, healthcare by 13%, and climate change by 12%. Additionally, 63% of those surveyed expressed disapproval of the government's current performance.
